There is something special about searching through seed catalogs during a dreary winter day. The unique and wild varieties heirloom seeds offer a gardener are what dreams are made of. If you’re in need of some garden inspiration and hope for warmer days, check into some of these companies!
They all offer heirloom, organic, and non-GMO seed varieties and with some you can request paper catalogs. I’m all for low waste options, but still enjoy flipping through the beautiful pages of seed catalogs (and hatchery catalogs, too!)
I wanted to go through and list some companies that have great products. Some are large and well known in the USA, while others are more small business and totally deserve some recognition!
If I saw any deals while checking further into their sites, I tried to list them for you; however, I have no affiliation with any of these companies and do not represent their current sales or deal packages! You will have to investigate any sales at the time of your purchase.
This is definitely not a comprehensive list of companies to shop non-GMO, organic, and heirloom seeds from but hopefully will give you a good start for your 2020 garden.
Happy planting!

With gardeners like you, we can get these seeds where they belong—in gardens and on tables everywhere, for generations to come.”

“Agriculture and seeds provide the basis upon which our lives depend. We must protect this foundation as a safe and genetically stable source for future generations. For the benefit of all farmers, gardeners and consumers who want an alternative, we pledge that we do not knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds or plants. The mechanical transfer of genetic material outside of natural reproductive methods and between genera, families or kingdoms poses great biological risks, as well as economic, political and cultural threats. We feel that genetically engineered varieties have been insufficiently tested prior to public release. More research and testing is necessary to further assess the potential risks of genetically engineered seeds. Further, we wish to support agricultural progress that leads to healthier soils, genetically diverse agricultural ecosystems and ultimately healthy people and communities.”

A great family owned business. I came across this company from their YouTube channel where they offer a TON of information about growing indoor and outdoor edible plants!
